All of our timber is sustainably sourced
We care about our environment and we’re constantly looking for new ways to work more sustainably. With two young sons, we want to do everything we can to protect our environment for future generations to enjoy.
At Tucker Joinery, we choose our timber suppliers with great care. All of our timber is sustainably sourced and certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). We have full chain of custody documentation showing where each piece of wood has been grown.
Wood burner briquettes
Waste sawdust is turned into logs which heat our workshop in the winter so we don’t need to use oil, gas or electric heating. This provides a practical use for waste which would have otherwise gone to landfill.
Our heat logs work brilliantly in wood burners as kindling – producing a quick and steady heat. These logs generate more heat than standard logs as our timber is kiln-dried and compressed.
We sell surplus heat logs to customers for a small charge and we’ve also donated thousands of heat logs to older people in need during the cost-of-living crisis.
Waste wood recycling
Remnants of timber are cut up and burnt as firewood. We also regularly donate waste timber to local colleges for student projects.
Nothing goes to waste at Tucker Joinery!
